The Deep East Texas Baseball Association is a non-profit select baseball organization centered in East Texas dedicated
to boys who love to play baseball. We pride ourselves in committing our work completely to these players
to provide the greatest playing environment available in our area.
We invite you to visit ballparks all around East Texas to take in the hundreds of games we have every fall and spring season.

SPRING 2012 WORLD SERIES
Airport Park - Marshall, TX
Brackets will be updated late Saturday night - probably between 11:45-12:00AM. Please check the DETBA Facebook group if you would like to see results sooner!
Homerun Derby will be held from 2-4 PM on Saturday. Each team needs to select two players to represent their team. 9-10 will hit on field 7 and 11-12 will hit on field 4. Players may select a coach or parent to throw to them. The rest of the hitter's team should be on the field to shag balls and throw them back in. A schedule will be posted to the website by FRIDAY. Teams must be ready to take the field and begin immediately following the previous team. Please make this quick so that we don't get behind schedule.
Each player will attempt to hit the most homeruns possible. Any SWING that does not result in a homerun will be an "out" including foul balls or misses. A player's turn is complete when he reaches 6 outs.
First place trophy will be awarded in each age division (9, 10, 11, 12). In the event of a tie after all players have hit, there will be a 3 out "homer-off."
Directions To Marshall Airport Park Fields:
Traveling E on HWY 80: Cross the Intersection at HWY 59. Continue about 1.5 miles and make a right on Warren Dr. (at a traffic light, across the street from Oak Lawn Golf Course - you can see the cart garage from the road). Continue south on Warren until you come to the park on your left.
From I-20: Exit HWY 31 N. Turn right onto S. Airport Rd. Road curves to the left at the airport and becomes Warren Dr. Continue north on Warren until you come to the park on your right.

T-shirts will be given to every DETBA player and will be available for purchase at the World Series. Along with being immortalized on the shirt, Ryan will also receive a Mike Napoli jersey. Great job Ryan!
SCORE REPORTING:
Coaches please report your scores no later than 7:00 PM Sunday. We have all scores we have recieved posted, but several games are missing. Please check them and use the form on the website to report your scores so that we can update the standings. Thanks!
FALL 2012 CALENDAR ANNOUNCED:
The DETBA Board of Directors is pleased to announce the Fall 2012 season calendar. For the sixteenth consecutive year, DETBA will offer fall baseball in East Texas in all age groups.
JULY 8: Coaches Meeting
AUG 4-5 and/or AUG 11/12: Fall Season Kickoff Tournament (location TBA)
AUG 18: Opening Weekend
OPEN DATE(S) TBA
OCT 13: Regular Season Ends
OCT 20-21/27-28: 16th Annual World Series Tournament - The biggest and best tournament in East Texas
SPRING 2012 WORLD SERIES ANNOUNCED:
The DETBA Spring 2012 World Series Tournament will be held in Marshall, TX on May 19-20. The Marshal facility has been working hard this offseason and has completed full refinishing on fields 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The beautifully restored fields, along with new bathroom facilities and resurfaced parking lots, continute to demonstate Marshall's commitment to youth baseball in East Texas, along with their dedication to making the DETBA World Series the best championship tournament in the state of Texas! In addition this year, DETBA is adding a HOMERUN DERBY to the weekend's festivities! It is going to be a great season!

The TATER TOTE BOARD, which celebrates the homers hit by DETBA players each week, is now online. We also have a new e-mail address to use to make sure we received your submissions. Please send all over the fence homers incluing player name, team name, and age group to taters@detba.org.

DETBA PARTNERS WITH USSSA:
Deep East Texas Baseball Association is proud to announce that we are now a sanctioned league with USSSA. As the only U-trip league in all of East Texas, our kickoff tournament and championship tournament are now qualifying events for the USSSA World Series. Every game your team plays with DETBA, including regular season games, will now gain your team points in the U-trip system. And, we harmonize perfectly with local Piney Woods tournaments.
We believe the marriage of DETBA and USSSA will bring a more exciting and higher quality experience for all East Texas teams, whether recreational or highly competitive. And this is just the beginning of great things to come! This is REAL EAST TEXAS BASEBALL! Spread the word!!

DETBA BASEBALLS:
DETBA game baseballs may be purchased at the season registration meeting or by contacting us at baseball@detba.org. Cost is $40/dozen.
AGE GROUPS: For a player to be eligible for a certain age group for the Fall 2011 season, he must be that age or younger on April 30, 2012. For example, a player may play 12U as long as he is 12 or younger on April 30, 2012. Remember, players can always "play up" to a higher age classification, but may never "play down." Whatever age a player is eligible for during the Fall 2011 season will remain his eligibility for Spring 2012.
